I will never read my horoscope again.
While reading the newspaper I turned on to the comic section. It gave me a really good laugh. I solved the crossword puzzle. Then suddenly my eyes fell on a new section, called "Todays Horoscope". This filled me will great interest, so I started reading about the stars. It felt pretty strange but still I made sure to read my horoscope (Capricorn), my eyes opened wide and it seemed as though the ground slid under my feet.
It said: today you will have bad luck. I was horrified and got very upset. So to forget all this, I went up to my room and switched on the computer. But when I was about to put the CD in the CD-DRIVE. It gave me an electric shock. First of all I thought that there was something wrong but later I knew that it was pure and simple bad luck. The pain was getting through my nerves. I started crying fearing that some sort of spell had begun.
When the sound of my wailing reached my mother she came rushing into my room. She asked me why I was crying and I told her about the shock. She hugged me so tightly that I could hardly breath. After that tight hug my pain was gone. But I didn't tell her about the bad luck for fear of making her worried.
But she somehow noticed my uneasiness. So I went outside to play basketball with my brother, I was beginning to enjoy the game when at once he threw the ball at me, it hit me right in the face, leaving me with a bruise under one eye. It hurt me so much that I was not able to open my eye. I went inside. When my mother saw this she quickly brought some medicine and applied it on the wound very carefully. When she was done with the first aid, my mother asked me how it all happened at this I told her the whole story. I told her about the horoscope and the bad luck. But she started to laugh. I wondered what was so funny. She then told me that horoscope was nothing but superstition and that I shouldn't have believed any of this nonsense in the first place.
But then I told her about the shock and my eye injury to prove my point. To this she just said that my computer was really old so it gave me an electric shock. And about the wound, well, she told me that boys are very rough and strong so my brother probably threw the ball harder than usual and it accidentally hit me. She told me never to believe these things. So after this incident I never saw my horoscope again.
